Dirty Girl Farm

Evolving an established natural skincare brand for its next chapter.

Dirty Girl Farm wasn’t a brand that needed to start over. It was an established natural skincare company with a loyal customer base, an extensive product line, and years of existing packaging already in the world.

THE PROJECT

Growing with Dirty Girl Farm.

As the business began shifting away from a physical retail presence and toward an online-first model, the brand needed room to evolve without losing the recognition it had already built.

Over the course of several years, Bliss & Tell became an extension of the Dirty Girl Farm team, supporting everything from packaging and photography to marketing, website copy, email campaigns, and eventually a custom Shopify website.

THE CHALLENGE

Evolve the brand without starting over.

Dirty Girl Farm already had an established identity and an extensive collection of handmade products, each with its own packaging and labels. A traditional rebrand would have meant replacing a huge amount of existing collateral and changing a brand customers already knew.

Instead, we approached the project as an evolution.

The existing kraft packaging and bold typography gave the brand an earthy, natural foundation, but it was missing some of the warmth and softness behind the products themselves. Dirty Girl Farm is a deeply personal brand, with products Heather creates by hand and a story that began with her search for gentler options for her daughter’s skin.

Our goal was to bring more of that warmth and personality into the visual identity while building on what was already working.

THE BRAND EVOLUTION

Softening the edges while keeping what already worked.

Rather than replacing Dirty Girl Farm’s established identity, we expanded it.

We introduced delicate floral elements and a soft pink into the existing visual system, balancing the natural kraft materials and bold, block-style typography with something warmer and more approachable.

Because Dirty Girl Farm had such an extensive product catalog, the evolution happened intentionally over time. As new products were introduced or existing labels needed to be reordered, we incorporated the updated visual direction.

The result was a brand that could gradually grow into its new look without requiring the business to throw away perfectly usable packaging or change everything overnight.

FROM STOREFRONT TO ONLINE-FIRST

Creating a digital home for the next version of the business.

As Dirty Girl Farm began transitioning away from its physical retail presence and toward an online-first business, its website became increasingly important.

Our relationship with the brand evolved alongside it. We initially designed and supported Dirty Girl Farm’s WordPress website, but as e-commerce became a larger part of the business, we eventually moved the brand to Shopify and built a new store from the ground up.

The new site brought together the evolving visual identity, product photography, brand messaging, and extensive product collection into one cohesive shopping experience designed around the way the business was growing.

MORE THAN A SINGLE PROJECT

An ongoing creative partnership.

Our work with Dirty Girl Farm extended far beyond a single branding or website project.

Over many years, Bliss & Tell worked as an extension of Heather’s team, supporting the brand as new needs emerged and the business evolved.

This included packaging and label design, product photography, website design and development, brand and website copy, marketing materials, social media, newsletters, WordPress support, and eventually the transition to Shopify.

Rather than approaching each need as a separate project, we were able to understand the brand deeply and help maintain consistency across every place customers encountered Dirty Girl Farm.
